First Conditional - Part 5

First Conditional - Part 5

The pattern of the First Conditional is as follows:

If + (Simple Present Tense),  will + (Base Verb).

It is made up of the condition and the result.

5. We can use ‘going to’ in the First Conditional.

Example

1a. We will stay at home if it rains heavily.

1b. We are going to stay at home if rains heavily.

Remarks:
If the result always happens, we use the Zero Conditional instead of the First Conditional.

Example
1. If water reaches 100 degrees Celsius, it boils.
