Third Conditional - Part 2

The pattern of the Third Conditional is as follows:

If + (Past Perfect Tense), would have + (Past Participle)


We can also use ‘should’, ’could’ or ‘might’ instead of ‘would’ in the Third Conditional.

Example

1a. If we had saved more, we would have bought a big house.

1b. If we had saved more, we could have bought a big house.

1c. If we had saved more, we might have bought a big house.
